Uninor, the new active player In Indian Mobile Industry is planning to offer its services in Punjab in nearby future as indicated in company website, Uninor holds a pan-India UAS license to offer telecommunications services in each of India’s 22 circles.
The company was differing its plan to expand its operations into4 major circles comprising of Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh and some other north-eastern circles, due to the scarcity of spectrum.
Uninor runs its network in Punjab for the past one year or so, but which is not functional. However Uninor has initiated strategy to make this circle functional Uninor’s website, gives no clue on details regarding tariff schemes that it plans for these circles.
Uninor launched its GSM services in India initially in 8 circles and later added 2 circles & 5 circles to its list of operation. The exact date of the commercial launch in Punjab is still not declared but it is assumed that it will be done in next 30-45 days.
