Tata Phone+ slashes the price of its Tata Photon+, EVDO dongle to just Rs. 1499. The Tata’s move adds more ire and fire to the cut throat competition which is already existing in the wireless broadband market. Other EVDO players–Reliance, BSNL & MTS has already slashed the price of dongles offered by them, Tata Photon+ lowers the price down to Rs. 1799/1899 from its earlier price of Rs. 2399/2499/2599. The reduction in prices of Tata Photon+ dongles will be valid for all models, across all circles in the country. The Tata Photon+ services are based on EVDO Rev A platform that offers a speed up to 3.1 Mbps down-link and 1.8 Mbps up-link. Tata Teleservices has already unveiled of their plans to roll out the EVDO rev B phase II network in forthcoming days which can offer up to 14.7 Mbps download speed.
The other players who offers EVDO dongles Includes, BSNL dongles costing around Rs. 1499, Reliance Net connect+ dongle at Rs. 1299 and MTS MBlaze dongles offered for price of Rs. 1599 and 1549. Recently MTS has launched the MBlaze Ultra (EVDO Rev B Phase II) devices at Rs. 2499 that can support 9.8 Mbps of download speed.
