Nokia today unveiled its new Smartphone, Nokia N9 that has been built for people who prefer a perfect blend of latest smartphone technology with stunning design.
Nokia N9 includes an impressive new design where a simple gesture of a swipe is used instead of home key. When you are using any application, swiping from the edge of the display will take you to the home page.
N9 includes three home views of the user interface that have been designed to give fast access to the things people most commonly use like the applications, notifications on social networks and switching between activities.
The industrial design of Nokia N9 is an ideal example of exquisite product making and craft. Its body is precision-machined out of a single piece of polycarbonate and has beautiful curved glass without any seam. The laminated deep black display enables the user interface to float on the surface of N9. It has latest camera, audio and navigation technology to give an all-round experience. It comes in three colors – black, cyan and magenta.
“With the Nokia N9, we wanted to design a better way to use a phone. To do this we innovated in the design of the hardware and software together. We reinvented the home key with a simple gesture: a swipe from the edge of the screen. The experience sets a new bar for how natural technology can feel,” said Nokia’s Head of design, Marko Ahtisaari. “And this is just the beginning. The details that make the Nokia N9 unique – the industrial design, the all-screen user experience, and the expressive Qt framework for developers – will evolve in future Nokia products.”
Nokia N9 is expected to be in stores by the end of this year. The availability and price will be announced close to the start of the sale.
