Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), the state-run telecom major has trimmed ISD calling rates for all calls to Nepal up to 45% to any network. The rates are applicable for outgoing calls from MTNL landline and CDMA/GSM mobile phone in Mumbai without any add-on pack or cost. That means, now MTNL landline and mobile 2G and 3G users in Mumbai can make ISD calls to Nepal only at Rs. 5 per minute. The existing tariff charged Rs.9.20 per minute.
The reduced rates under the tariff will be valid for calls to all the mobile and landline phones of Nepal of any Network or Service Provider. MTNL in Delhi and Mumbai had slashed the ISD call rates for 26 countries earlier in June, 2010 for both Postpaid and Prepaid GSM(Dolphin/Trump) and for landline subscribers in September, 2010 by offering ISD calls at a minimum rate of Rs. 1 per minute with zero subscription charges.
MTNL in Delhi is already providing the same tariff for Nepal from December, 2010.
