IDEA Cellular, the third largest mobile operator in India, today proclaimed that it has the public in Kerala has given an overwhelming response to its 3G Mobile and Data Services.
Idea has added around 2 lakh subscribers in the Kerela telecom circle where the 3G services were launched hardly two months back.
Idea also announced the launch of its 3G Mobile and Data Services in Nedumangad and Trivandrum in addition to Alleppey, Kochi, Calicut, Palghat, Kannur, Malapuram, Pathanamthitta, Trichur, & Kollam in the Kerala telecom circle.
Idea’s 3G footprint in the country now spreads over 400 towns. The company claims to be growing at a rate of 10towns/day and aims to cover 750 towns by mid 2011 and 4,000 towns by the end of 2012.
At present Idea 3G services are available in 9 cities that include Gujarat, UP West, UP East, MP, HP, Haryana, Maharashtra & Goa, AP and Kerala. Around 10% of the Idea subscribers in these cities currently use 3G enabled handsets. They are expected to be the early adopters of Idea 3G services.
