BSNL TO Offer Static IP to Its Broadband Users

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the largest telecommunication company of the country with more than 60% market share in the broadband segment, in order to promote broadband services, today announced to provide Static IP with broadband plans on request. Additional charges will be charged for it. Currently all the plans have Dynamic IP, which means that you get an IP allocated dynamically whenever you connect your net next time. Hence, your IP changes every time when you reconnect your net. But the Static IP will be allotted only to you which will remain permanent and not change when you reconnect your net. A separate written request has to be given at the local exchange to attain it.
In order to obtain Static IP broadband plans (limited/unlimited) with monthly charge of Rs.1000 and above but less than Rs. 1500 will have to pay additional charge of Rs.2000 yearly. Similarly those with monthly charge of Rs. 1500 and above but less than Rs.2799 will have to pay extra Rs. 1800 yearly.
