BSNL Announces Hike In 3G Data

As the Indian Telecom sector is witnessing lot of changes , BSNL in an unprecedented  move yesterday  announced a major hike on 3G data Tariff.The decision to raise the 3G usage charges is a major  setback  for 3G customers of  BSNL who enjoys these services at a very affordable rate

As a part of the proposed  revision in charges BSNL plans to introduce some new  tariff plans, and withdraws some. The New tariff will be applicable from 16th September 2011 onwards.The  new  base rate  for BSNL 3G data will be 4paise/10KB instead of  the prevailing  rate of 2 paise/KB .

BSNL has also withdrawn the various promotional offerings – such as free 200 MB data usage which is given along with new 3G data card connection.

BSNL has withdrawn the Rs. 89, Rs. 189, Rs. 1819, Rs. 2720 in post paid segment and prepaid Data RCV Rs. 200.BSNL also informed that the additional usage charges will also be increased from existing 2p/10 KB to 4p/10 KB in all data plans under postpaid and prepaid 3G mobile services.

Sources from BSNL has explained that the changes in tariff  structure  is to comply with 43rd amendment of telecom tariff order issued by TRAI.
