Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched the fourth generation wireless broadband service, WiMAX in Kochi of the Kerela telecom circle with 2Mbps speed and core network speed of 7 Mbps.
BSNL WiMAX Service Now In Kochi
BSNL has installed around 200 WiMAX BTS towers in the region of Kochi to empower all the 79 major areas of the city including the nearby urban areas and towns such as Adimaly, Idukki, Kattapana, Kumili, edumkandam, Permade and Suryanelli with high speed wireless internet connectivity.
BSNL has come up with 7 plans. 3 plans are for limited use of wireless Broadband and 4 for unlimited use with speed between 512 Kbps to 2 Mbps. The monthly charges range from Rs. 220 per month to Rs. 750 per month for plans with limited usage. For plans with unlimited usage the fixed charges vary from Rs. 750 for home users to Rs. 7000.
The WiMAX equipment, Modem or CPE can be taken on rent at Rs. 40 per month from BSNL or can also be purchased.
In a press release BSNL authorities informed that the WiMAX Broadband connection will be available to the customers within a day.
