Airtel has revised its 3G data plans; The new plan will give more data usage facility for its 3G subscribers in India. The 3G generation revolution witnessed by India is expected, to drive the Indian mobile sector competitive and make them offer better service to consumers. The price was the major trump card used by mobile operators in the initial days, but now each and every operators are trying for customer acquisition through by giving more data on 3G data plans.
The revision occurred as a result of Idea and Vodafone launching their 3G services with an intra circle agreement made with Airtel in which partnered operator will be providing more data than the telecom who has got the license to launch the 3G services. The subscribers will be offered to customers for a period of 3 months starting September 19th.
similar set of scheme was also launched by Idea Cellular and Reliance in previous months, Idea has extended its offer till 31st Dec 2011, followed by Reliance which is offering triple data till October 31st, 2011 in some packs (3G not available in South for reliance customers).
The other operators likely to offer Tata & Aircel to take same kind of initiative as the presence of 3G services of these schemes will raise competition.
