Airtel today launched its 3G mobile and Data Services in Shillong in the North East telecom circle and north Srinagar in the Jammu and Kashmir telecom circle.
Airtel 3G Now In Srinagar and Shillong
Shashi Arora, the Chief Executive Officer of the Mobile Service, Upper North, Bharati Airtel, launched the Airtel Services today in Srinagar. He said that the service will gradually be launched across the complete state in the coming days.
The target of the launch is to empower the Airtel subscribers in Srinagar with High Speed Internet, Video calls, Mobile TV along with the experience the various capabilities 3G services can provide. The operator has set up around 160 3G cell-sites at major locations in Srinagar.
To activate the 3G service Airtel subscribers must SMS 3G to 121. The customers will receive a confirmation message and the 2G data plan will be deactivated. Once the subscriber confirms the 3G data plan ‘Pay As You Go’ will be activated. All the data usage will be chargeable at 30 paisa per 20 kB.
The 3G data plans begin fro Rs. 9. Subscribers can choose the plan according to their needs. The charges for the 3G local, STD and Roaming video calls will be 5 paisa per second.
