The Mobile Number Portability system has increased the tariff war between the network providers and is playing a major role in the Indian telecom industry. The ultimate advantage is to the customers who earlier had the option of cheap tariffs now have those of cheaper tariffs. The fight is to retain the existing customers and attract newer ones.
A few days back Airtel had launched Rs. 37 RCV that offers local calls on any network at 35p/min. Airtel has now come up with a RCV of Rs.43 which will further lower the local calling rates to 30p/min.
RCV 43 is available for all prepaid Airtel users in West Bengal and Kolkata telecom circle. It has a validity of 30 days hence is more cost-effective than RCV 37 for customers who often make local calls.
The details of the tariff are as follows:
MRP: Rs. 43 Validity: 30 days
Calling Rate: 30p/min all local calls
